The Ant - Final year project for the « Diplôme des Métiers d’Arts », including design, fabric and pattern research, tailoring, sewing, fitting sessions, embellishment. The costume was designed by Corinne Petitpierre, assisted by Aliénor Figueiredo, that also was in charge of its realization. It let her explore all the different steps of the creation of a complex and surrealistic silhouette, used by the « Insect Train » dancers. As a final degree project, it gave her also the opportunity to discover the strange and mystic imagery of insects, as well as leading with unusual materials such as plastazote and tubular horsehair braid.
Cecilia Bengolea and Florentina Holzinger stage a collective experiment about the connections between nature and the human body. Joining forces, they explore the body’s transformation into another being or consciousness that transcends our known biological limits. This dancing performance was produced by Bonlieu Scène nationale Annecy and deSingel Anvers, and released in May 2018.
